Memberships
Manage members
Who's active, who's past due, when members are charged, how the waitlist fills a capped tier, and how a member cancels.
Where members are listed
Memberships › Members lists everyone with a membership: tier, status, member since, and last payment. Open a member to see their visits and receipts, which is the same record they have in Audience.
| Status | What it means | At the door |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Paid up. | Perks apply. |
| Past due | The last monthly charge failed. The member is texted to update their card. | The badge shows past due and perks don't apply, but they can still pay cover and come in. |
| Canceled | The member ended it. | Perks apply until the end of the month they've paid for, then stop. |
When members are charged
A member is charged on the day of the month they joined: someone who joins on October 14 is charged on November 14, December 14 and so on, by card, through Stripe, into your venue's balance. If a charge fails, Stripe retries it; if it keeps failing the membership goes past due and the member is texted to update their card.
How the waitlist works
When a capped tier is full, new signups go on the waitlist instead of joining. Memberships › Waitlist shows them in order. When a member cancels and a spot opens, the next person on the list is texted an invitation to join.
How a member updates their card or cancels
Members return to your membership page to update their card or cancel. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the month they've paid for, so someone who cancels on the 3rd keeps their perks until their next billing date. Canceling doesn't refund the current month. If you need to refund a payment yourself, do it from the member's record. Refunds →
Where membership revenue shows up
Membership payments appear in Revenue alongside cover, tickets and bookings, each with a receipt, and pay out with the rest of your balance. Get paid →
