Memberships

Launch memberships

Create a membership tier with perks the door enforces, share your membership page, and take your first member.

You create a tier with a monthly price and a set of perks. Guests join from your hosted membership page and are billed monthly by card. At the door, a member is recognized the moment they're scanned and their perks are applied by the scanner, not by the person holding it.

Requirements

  • A verified venue with payouts connected. Tiers can be drafted before that, but can't be published and nobody can join until card payments are on. Get paid →
  • A logo and photo in Settings › Profile. Your membership page is branded from there.
  • Door staff using the scanner. Perks are applied at check-in; a member who isn't scanned isn't recognized. Members at the door →

Step 1: Create a tier

A tier for a neighborhood bar might be Regular: $40 a month, free cover every night, bring one guest, early access to tickets, capped at 100 members. Open Memberships and add yours:

FieldWhat it does
Name & descriptionShown on your membership page. Regular: skip the cover, bring a friend, first dibs on tickets.
Monthly priceBilled by card every month from the day they join.
Member capOptional. A tier capped at 100 stops taking signups at 100 and sends the 101st person to the waitlist. The page shows how many spots are left.
PerksWhat the scanner enforces. See the next step.
Stated perksAnything else you promise (a free drink on your birthday, a members-only night). Shown on the page; the scanner doesn't act on them.

Step 2: Pick the perks the scanner enforces

PerkWhat you setWhat happens at the scan
EntryPriority entry, optionally limited to N nights a month, with a guest allowance (+1, +2…)The badge says priority and shows how many guests they can bring. The door checks the guests in under the member.
DiscountFree cover, or a percentage off cover or ticketsCover is comped or reduced on the cover screen without the door doing anything.
TicketsEarly accessThe member sees tickets on the event page before general release.
CustomA label you writeShown on the badge as a line for the door to honor, like one free well drink.

A tier can have several perks. The Regular above has Entry (+1), Discount (free cover) and Tickets (early access).

Step 3: Share your membership page

Every venue with a tier gets a membership page on Mosh. It shows your name, photo and accent color from Settings › Profile, each tier with its perks and price, and how many spots are left when a tier is capped. The URL is on the Memberships screen.

Put it behind a "Become a member" button on your website, in your Instagram bio, on the flyer for a members' night, or in a text to the regulars who already ask about it.

How a guest joins

  1. They pick a tier.
  2. They verify their phone number by text. This is the number the door will recognize them by.
  3. They enter a card and agree to the auto-renewal terms.
  4. They're a member immediately and get a confirmation text.

If the tier is full, they join the waitlist instead and get a text when a spot opens.

Changing a tier after people have joined

Price, perks and cap can change at any time. Existing members keep the price they joined at until you tell them otherwise; new signups see the new price. Pausing a tier stops new signups without touching current members.

Members agree to auto-renewal terms when they sign up, and the version they agreed to is recorded on their membership, so a later change to the terms doesn't rewrite what an existing member accepted.

Once people have joined, billing, past-due members and the waitlist are covered in Manage members.
