Marketing
Promote an event
Make the flyer, run a promotion the door validates, and get the night in front of the people who'll come.
Marketing on Mosh starts from the event. Enter the night once and the flyer, the promotion, the reminders and the photo drop all come from it and update when it does.
Requirements
- An event with a name, date, time and cover image. Everything below is generated from it. Create an event →
- A logo and colors in Settings › Profile. Flyers and galleries carry your brand from there.
- For text reminders: a verified venue. Texting is locked until ownership is verified. Text reminders →
Making the flyer
Open Flyers, pick the event, and generate. The flyer uses the event's name, date, time, lineup and cover image, plus the logo and colors from Settings › Profile. Generate again for a different take and keep the one you like.
If a detail changes, say the start moves from 10 to 9 or a second DJ is added, change it on the event and regenerate. The flyer is built from the event, so there's no separate file to keep in sync.
Download it for Instagram or print, or share the event page, which uses the flyer as its image. The event page link carries RSVP and tickets, so a guest who sees the flyer on Instagram and taps through can RSVP or buy from the same place.
Running a promotion
A promotion is an offer tied to the event. It has a trigger (what the guest does to claim it), a benefit (what they get), a cap (how many can claim it), and a window (when it can be claimed and when it can be redeemed).
| Trigger | How the guest claims it | Benefits it can carry |
|---|---|---|
| RSVP | By RSVPing on the event page | Free entry, discounted entry, or a custom perk |
| Check-in | By arriving, usually before a time or among the first through the door (the first 50, say) | Free entry, discounted entry, or a custom perk |
Three promotions that work:
- Free entry before 11 for the first 100 RSVPs. Trigger RSVP, benefit free entry, cap 100, redeem window until 11 pm.
- $5 off cover for the first 50 through the door. Trigger check-in, benefit $5 off, cap 50.
- Welcome drink for the first 30 RSVPs. Trigger RSVP, benefit custom perk ("one well drink"), cap 30.
Creating the promotion
From the event, add a promotion: a title, the trigger, the benefit, the cap, the claim window, the redeem window, and terms if you want them shown. Choose whether guests see how many are left. A scarcity threshold switches the count on only when it gets low, so 12 left appears but 97 left doesn't.
What each status means
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Not visible to guests yet. |
| Scheduled | Will go live when the claim window opens. |
| Live | Guests can claim it. |
| Exhausted | The cap was hit. |
| Expired | The window closed with claims left. |
| Ended | You ended it, or the event passed. |
Pause a live promotion at any time; void one to cancel it outright.
What the door sees
A guest who claimed a promotion shows it on the scan with the benefit already applied to tonight's cover: Claimed: free before 11, $0 owed at 10:50, $10 owed at 11:10. The door doesn't check a list, a time or a count; the scanner did. Redemptions count against the cap as they happen, so the 101st person can't claim what the first 100 already used. Each admit records the promotion and the benefit, so 60 free entries before 11 appear in the ledger as 60 admits at $0 with the promotion's name as the reason. Check in guests and take cover →
How your audience builds
Every guest who checks in, buys a ticket, books a package or joins a membership gets a visitor record in Audience, identified by phone number. The gallery text after Friday goes to the people who were there Friday, and the next event's reminder goes to the people who said they're coming. Photo galleries →
