Getting started
Set up your venue
Create your account and venue, fill in the profile, verify ownership with a code to your listed number, connect payouts, turn on your first product, get the app and invite the team.
1. Create your account and venue
- Go to mosh.events/venues/start.
- Find your venue. Search by name or address and pick it from the list. If it isn't listed, add it by hand.
- Verify your phone. You'll get a one-time code by text. This number is your login.
- Add your name. This is how your team sees you.
- Mosh creates the venue and opens your dashboard. You're the Owner.
If someone has already claimed the venue on Mosh, you'll see This venue has already been claimed as soon as you pick it. Ask the person who runs it to invite you. If you believe someone else has claimed your venue in error, contact us.
2. Fill in the profile
In Settings › Profile, add the logo, a photo and the basics guests see on your hosted pages: the booking page, the membership page and event pages. Settings › Door holds opening hours, the default cover price and the default age policy for new events.
3. Verify your venue
Anyone can create a venue on Mosh, so Mosh needs a separate way to know that the person running the dashboard actually runs the room. That is verification. It works the way Google Business Profile does: we send a code to the phone number already on the venue's public Google listing, never to a number you type in, and you enter it.
Until a venue is verified it can still do most of the setup work, but the trust-sensitive parts stay locked:
| Unverified venues can | Unverified venues can't |
|---|---|
| Use the dashboard, fill in the profile, invite the team | Connect payouts (Stripe) |
| Create events and guest lists, run the scanner | Sell tickets or take card cover |
| Build packages and membership tiers | Publish a membership tier or send texts |
| Share event pages by link | Appear in discovery feeds and search |
Cash and comp cover are never gated, so a brand-new venue can run a door on night one.
Verify from the dashboard
- Open your dashboard. An unverified venue shows a Verify ownership prompt at the top, and the setup guide lists Verify your venue.
- Choose Verify ownership. The modal shows the venue's listed number, masked, so you can see where the code is going before anything sends.
- Pick Text me the code or Call me with the code. If the listed number rings the bar floor rather than a cell phone, pick Call: the code is read aloud twice.
- Enter the 6-digit code. Codes expire after 10 minutes and you get five attempts.
- Done. Payouts, tickets, digital cover and messaging unlock immediately, and your events start appearing in discovery.
Verification is per venue, not per person. Once the venue is verified, everyone on the team benefits. Only an Owner or Admin can run it.
If the code doesn't arrive
- Choose Didn't get it? Start over and try the other channel. A text that doesn't land often works as a call.
- If you asked for a code a moment ago, the modal reuses the pending one rather than sending a second; enter the code you already received.
- Check the listed number on Google. If the listing shows an old number, update it there first. Google listing changes can take a day or two to appear.
Venues without a Google listing
If your venue isn't linked to a Google listing, or the listing has no phone number, the modal tells you we can't verify automatically and offers Contact us. Email hello@mosh.events with the venue name and we'll verify you another way, usually within a business day.
Someone else claimed my venue
If a venue was set up by someone who doesn't run it, the real owner can verify with the listed number at any time. A successful verification by the real owner takes over the venue; the earlier unverified setup is removed from the owner role and notified.
Verification is about ownership of the venue. Connecting a bank account is the next step, handled by Stripe.
4. Connect payouts
Go to Settings › Payouts and connect your bank through Stripe. Until this is done you can set everything up, but card deposits, ticket sales and card cover can't be collected. Get paid →
5. Turn on your first product
- Bookings: add a package, then share your booking link from Settings › Website. Take private bookings →
- Memberships: create a tier with its perks and price, then share your membership page. Launch memberships →
- The door: create an event, add a guest list and open the scanner on the night. Create an event →
Everything is live the moment you save it. There is no publish step, so a package you create is bookable right away. Set it up before you share the link.
6. Download the Mosh app to start scanning
The scanner is in the Mosh app for iPhone; the web dashboard doesn't scan. Get it at mosh.events/app and sign in with the same phone number you used to create the venue. Everyone who works the door needs the app on their own phone. Cash and comp cover work in the app with nothing else connected; Tap to Pay needs payouts connected. Check in guests and take cover →
7. Invite the team
Team is where you add people and give them a role. Door staff get Door Manager, which shows them the list and the scanner and nothing else. After they accept the invite, they're pointed to the app. Invite your team →
